National Youth Day, also known as Vivekananda Jayanti, is celebrated on 12th of January every year, being the birthday anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. In 1984 the Government of India declared this day as National Youth Day and since 1985 the event is celebrated in India every year. Swami Vivekananda, one of the most popular philosophers and thinkers of India made significant contributions to the youth of India. This day is celebrated to honour Swami Vivekananda, as well as to encourage the youth to work hard and contribute to the overall development of our country. To motivate the students to follow in the footsteps of Swami Vivekananda and ultimately lead to the prosperity of the nation, we celebrated National Youth Day in DSPS. The students made portraits of Swami Vivekananda, gave speeches and made presentations on the life of Swami Vivekananda. The students also made greeting cards to wish everyone a Happy National Youth Day. The students made posters on some important quotes given by Swami Vivekananda. The Day was celebrated with vigour and the students were inspired by Swami Vivekananda to follow in his footsteps and bring glory to their name.
