Science Exhibition

Dayananda Sagar Public School Anjanapura

November 20, 2021

The brilliant American cosmologist Carl Sagan said, “Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge.” Science exhibitions are an excellent opportunity for children to stimulate their creative and critical thinking skills. The great Albert Einstein said, “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvellous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery each day.”
At DSPS, we want our children to comprehend this mystery a little every day, and thus came the conception of the Science exhibition. Science exhibition was conducted with the vision of igniting scientific temper in students. The main objectives of organizing the Science exhibition were to endorse interest in Science and technology among younger generations, to encourage scientific and technological creativity among students, to inculcate a sense of pride in their talents, to encourage creative thinking, and to promote psychomotor skills among school students through self-designed models.
The Science exhibition was held on November 20, 2021, for Pre-Primary classes up to Class VIII. The event was inaugurated by our esteemed Chief Guest Ms. Tintisha H Sagar, the Joint Secretary of Dayananda Sagar Institutions. She inspired and motivated all the children to do more, achieve more, and excel in all spheres of life.

The Science exhibition was conducted with a lot of enthusiasm and vigour and all of the students had put their best foot forward in making their exhibits. The pre-primary students presented their Science exhibits on the topics, ‘Means of Transportation’ and ‘Our Solar System’. The students’ models and efforts were commendable! The primary school students presented models of various concepts like – ocean and rainforest diorama, solar and lunar eclipse, rainwater harvesting, windmill, the lifecycle of frog/ butterfly, and many more. The middle school students presented exhibits on different topics like – simple circuits, the human digestive system, the working model of the barometer, DNA model, presentations on global warming, air and water pollution, Bhopal gas disaster and many more. A special live Science counter was presented where students of Class VII, performed live Science experiments on the following topics – Soda Geyser: reaction between mentos and Coca-Cola, Instant Volcano: reaction between vinegar and baking soda, Mixing Acids: mixing vinegar and Coca-Cola, Bouncing Egg: keeping the egg in vinegar, Pop sound: reaction between metals and acids.
